Revelation II

$275.00

This scarf design is a blend of two of my original images. The first, a composition with lovely full pink peonies and billowy Queen Anne’s Lace, and the second, a photograph of still water reflecting clouds during a glorious sunrise. I want to create the impression of the continuum of the earth, the sky, and the heavens. The bits of white at the bottom are shell pieces on the seabed of the water below the pier, the ripples are on the surface of the water, the water reflects the clouds and sun bursting through as the heavens surround our earth. Of course I love the color palette with the cool blues and pinks and just the right amount of glowing gold from the sun returning to warm us each day. It was one of the original creations that taught me about the Edge of Revelation. This idea, that for artists, the best spot is the edge of revelation, the time when things are just being revealed, as dawn reveals the day.

Not quite square but amply sized at 49 inches by 42 inches.

About

the making of my scarves and textiles.

I knew that I had to make silk scarves the day I created the Pool & Larkspur photograph. The surface of the water, the aqua background…I could just see it on rippling silk! That put me on a two year journey of trial and error for various silks from multiple suppliers in several countries.

Finding the atelier in Lake Como, Italy, was the moment it all came together. They are as dedicated as I am to sustainable luxury. Of course the edges are hand sewn! Of course the silk is luminous and perfectly mirrors the colors the flowers are giving me! But we are also using sustainable practices throughout the entire process. GOTS certification, certification of non-toxic materials, inks, and finishing, along with responsible packaging and small order fulfillment all mean our environmental footprint is not harmful to our planet or to our person.
