Wisteria is a favorite subject but the addition of the Iris made this composition more graphic, more compelling. It has the looser feel that I like while still using my favorite hues of blue and violet. But I love the way the iris petals are emerging from the ice and have hoarfrost coating the blossoms. The bits of yellow that are showing up in the tiny daisies and on the iris petals are lovely surprises. Enjoy this versatile 70” shawl as a wrap, a skirt, a lovely tied blouse. Also available soon in textiles for pillows and even a table runner!

About

the making of my scarves and textiles.

I knew that I had to make silk scarves the day I created the Pool & Larkspur photograph. The surface of the water, the aqua background…I could just see it on rippling silk! That put me on a two year journey of trial and error for various silks from multiple suppliers in several countries.

Finding the atelier in Lake Como, Italy, was the moment it all came together. They are as dedicated as I am to sustainable luxury. Of course the edges are hand sewn! Of course the silk is luminous and perfectly mirrors the colors the flowers are giving me! But we are also using sustainable practices throughout the entire process. GOTS certification, certification of non-toxic materials, inks, and finishing, along with responsible packaging and small order fulfillment all mean our environmental footprint is not harmful to our planet or to our person.
